Connan is an economist by training. After finishing his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota, he served as an Assistant Professor in the economics department at UCLA for several years. Following that, he was a lead on the Marketplace data science team at Uber, specializing in pricing and incentive design. Connan joined Just Auto Insurance as the Head of Data Science in November of 2019, where he is responsible for data science, risk measurement, and pricing.
